Getting motivated to start working toward a goal is tough, but staying motivated is even harder!
Here are quick strategies to get and keep yourself motivated:
- Condition your mind. Train yourself to think positive thoughts while avoiding negative thoughts.
Stop using negative phrases … such as “I can’t, “It’s impossible,” or “This won’t work.” These statements program your mind to look for negative results.
- If someone asks you how you are doing, respond with positive comments such as “Terrific!” or “Fabulous!” or “I’ve never felt better!” rather than a depressing “OK” or “Getting by.”
- Stop complaining. I used to focus on things over which I had no control and would obsess about my personal problems. That didn’t do any good other than stress me out and depress those around me. So for every complaint give yourself one thought of gratitude.
- Most importantly, you have GOT to change your belief. You have GOT to find a source of self motivation, you have GOT to make the decision that your goals are important. Because its not just about you-it’s about your family, friends, loved ones who need you to be healthy, successful and happy!
