As humans, we must constantly be adding fresh water to our body in order to keep it properly hydrated. We can go for weeks without food, but only 3 days without water. Here are some fun facts about water, and why you should be drinking more.

Water makes up nearly 85 percent of your brain, about 80 percent of your blood and about 70 percent of your lean muscle. That’s a lot of water and when we don’t stay hydrated, our body cannot function properly.

Water can be a miracle cure for many common ailments such as headaches, fatigue, joint pain, menstrual cramps and much more. Water should always be your first go to before taking a medication.

Some people who prefer not to drink water will count other beverages as their water intake. Other beverages such as coffee and tea are diuretics therefore stealing precious water from the body. Drink as much water as you can in its purest form.

  • Other benefits of drinking water includes increasing energy, promotes weight loss, flushes out toxins, improves skin complexion, maintains regularity, and boosts immune system.

Research shows we should consume eight 8-ounce glasses each day, which equals about 2 liters, or half a gallon. This is called the 8×8 rule and is very easy to remember. So drink up!
